For the 25th anniversary of Stiftung Kindertraum, we produced the documentary film „Träum weiter“ (EN: Dream on), which premiered as part of the anniversary celebrations at the Filmcasino in Vienna. The movie’s core forms a specially constructed dream machine, symbolizing the collaborative efforts of the numerous individuals dedicated to helping Stiftung Kindertraum fulfill the dreams of seriously ill and disabled children in Austria.
Stiftung Kindertraum is a non-profit organisation that has been fulfilling dreams of seriously ill and disabled children for 25 years. To date, almost 4.000 dreams have been fulfilled. To make this possible, it takes many people working together – just like the interconnected parts of a machine. Based on this, we had the idea of actually building a dream machine and showing the people involved and their amazing work in a documentary film.
“We were captivated by the notion of creating something from scratch,” says Thomas Schmid, Creative Director at page 84. “It all started with a single idea from the founder, Dr. Hans-Gert Breinl, who dreamed about helping seriously ill and disabled children. It’s a thought composed of neurons, making it tangible matter forming the initial spark for the dream machine. In a way, our film serves as a guide for charitable ideas and projects, an encouragement for those who wish to embark on constructing the dream machine for Stiftung Kindertraum.”
“One of the most exciting moments during the film’s production was witnessing the actual construction of the dream machine at the Semper Depot in Vienna. While we were already acquainted with set designer Harald Schöllbauer’s sketches, the experience of seeing this seven by five-meter dream machine in person is indescribable,” explains Liselotte Strauß, the films production manager. Equally impactful were the visits to three families whose children had their dreams fulfilled in the past. “The warmth and hospitality with which we were received were truly moving, and I’m thrilled that we were able to capture and convey this heartfelt experience in the film,” adds Liselotte Strauß.
The film “Träum weiter” finally celebrated its premiere at the Filmcasino to mark the 25th anniversary of Stiftung Kindertraum. Diana Gregor-Patera, Managing Director of Stiftung Kindertraum, said enthusiastically: “page 84 has managed to create a coherent film with a lot of heart and sensitivity, which beautifully illuminates all aspects of this complex and by no means simple topic.”
For us, supporting social projects is part of our corporate philosophy. This makes the positive feedback from viewers and, of course, Stiftung Kindertraum itself all the more gratifying.
